Ms Anna Yau is the Vice President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists (HKICON) and a member of the Museum Advisory Committee and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee of the HKSAR Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau. She is also a bureau member of the International Council of Monuments and Sites Intangible Cultural Heritage Scientific Committee (ICOMOS-ICICH), an accredited UNESCO Convention for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage Global Network Facilitator, and a Clore Fellow.


She has participated in various conservation and revitalisation projects for heritage buildings and rural areas. From 2021 to 2024, she served as a jury member for the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards. Currently, she works as an independent consultant and is a visiting professor at several universities in Hong Kong and the Mainland, promoting the sustainable development of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage in urban and rural areas of the Asia-Pacific region.


Organisation Description


The Hong Kong Architectural Conservationists Association was established in 2010 and is dedicated to promoting and protecting Hong Kong's architectural heritage. The institute brings together professionals to provide expert advice and technical support, fostering public awareness and understanding of architectural conservation. Through lectures, workshops, and field visits, the institute encourages public participation in heritage conservation and collaborates with the government and relevant organisations to improve laws and policies, ensuring the sustainable preservation of Hong Kong's architectural heritage.
