Ms Woo graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as the first cohort from the School of Technical Arts to acquire lifelong skills in organising complex shows and related business operations. In the 1990s, she embarked on a journey to become a nature educator and participated in nature conservation works. Now, as the Head of Holistic Education at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, she is passionate about exploring the possibility of transforming the natural setting into a stage for learning and connection with Mother Earth. She enjoys bringing the wonder of nature to people from all walks of life and is curious about how humans can strengthen their relationships with their natural and spiritual environments. She studied with Plum Village as a mindfulness teacher and had pursued a master’s degree in Buddhist Counselling at the University of Hong Kong. Her studies in mindfulness and Buddhist counselling further enrich her approach, allowing her to foster a deeper understanding of the relationship between humans and their environment. She feels blessed to be able to weave theatre arts know-how with nature arts creation and appreciation at this junction to serve a wider audience.
Organisation Description
Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) spans 148 hectares on the northern slopes of Tai Mo Shan, Hong Kong's highest mountain, near Tai Po. Established in 1956, KFBG initially aimed to aid farmers and provide public educational experiences. The site features diverse landscapes, including forests, theme gardens, vegetable terraces, and 17 kilometers of trails and roads. Over the decades, barren scrubland has transformed into mature forest through careful planting and protection. KFBG's influence extends beyond its site, focusing on ecological awareness, conservation, and sustainable lifestyles in Hong Kong, mainland China, Cambodia, and Laos. Visitors are welcomed year-round.
