Ms Wu Qihui is a PhD student in the Doctor of Cultural Studies program in the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She graduated with an MFA degree in Documentary Media Arts from Northwestern University and an MPhil degree from the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong. She is a documentary filmmaker and teacher based in Guangzhou. In 2020, in collaboration with Jigme Gyaltsen National Vocational School in Qinghai, she co-founded the Tibetan Ecological Film Youth Training Center, the first welfare film training program in Tibetan areas. Her thesis project investigates Tibetan responses to environmental degradation through cinema, music, and community activism, as well as the intricate relationships between humans and nonhuman beings as understood by Tibetans.
