Organisation Description

The MA in Cultural Management (MACM) programme is the leading postgraduate programme in cultural management in Hong Kong. Through an open, flexible, theoretically grounded curriculum including practical fieldwork experience, students are taught to meet the challenging demands of our ever-changing cultural and creative industries. A core value of the MACM programme is the act of cultural mediation that touches on issues such as professional ethics, cultural rights, cultural identity, and the social dynamics within cultural representation. Students learn to interpret, define, communicate, and advocate for the dignity, values and cultural rights of all members of society. The Centre for Cultural Studies (CCS) serves as a platform for the promotion of research activities in the field of cultural studies. Both the MACM programme and CCS are housed within the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
