CUSU Academy is a platform that offers free online series of thematic presentations, allowing the public to explore various issues related to culture and sustainable development.
Introduction to Culture and Sustainable Development
The first presentation will be led by Louis Yu, the convenor of the Hong Kong Culture and Sustainability Conference. He will share the inspiration behind the establishment of the conference and discuss the important role of culture in sustainable development, analyzing the core themes of the conference: AP+C Advocacy, Practice, and Conservation through various examples.
Introduction to Corporate ESG
The second presentation will be led by Ms. Karen Ngai, Head of Group ESG at CTF Services Limited, who will explore the vital relationship between sustainability and corporate ESG practices. She will discuss the risks and opportunities associated with implementing ESG frameworks, the approach to managing ESG, how Hong Kong corporations have driven the development of ESG, how companies in Hong Kong leverage ESG as a driver of growth, and the relationship between culture and ESG.
Introduction to Climate Change
The third presentation will be led by Ms. Ivy Leung, Executive Director of CarbonCare InnoLab. She will discuss what climate change is, the concepts of local and global climate justice, how the world is reacting to and committing to climate change issues, the state of sustainability in Hong Kong, actionable steps for achieving sustainability, and the relationship between climate and culture.
Advancing ESG in the Theatre Production
The fourth presentation will be jointly presented by Ms May Au, Head of Technical Production & Management, and Mr German Cheung, Lecturer on Technical Direction from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. They will share a number of global and local examples on advancing ESG in the theatre production, with reference to the Theatre Green Book.
