Cultural Practices and Sustainability (Hong Kong)

This section will explore how Hong Kong’s arts and cultural community is putting sustainability into practice. Years ago, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra began developing eco-friendly huqin, replacing traditional python skin with renewable materials—a practice that has now become well established. Meanwhile, writer and artist Human Ip draws inspiration from nature and ecology in her work, while also living and farming in Lai Chi Wo as part of her artistic practice. Her story shows how cultural practitioners can use creativity to inspire society and help build more resilient, sustainable communities.
