Ms Ada Wong has led a varied career as solicitor, educator, social innovator and entrepreneur. She is a staunch advocate of creative education, cultural development and social innovation.
Ms Wong founded the Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture (HKICC), which established the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity in 2006—a specialist secondary school nurturing talents for the arts, culture and creative industries.
With extensive knowledge of public policies and cross-sector innovations, Ms Wong also founded nonprofit organisations such as the Make A Difference Institute (to nurture young creative changemakers) and Good Lab Foundation (a social innovation consultancy). She is Chair of Ednovators, an education innovation organisation. Over the past eight years, Ednovators was the Lead Programme Partner of JC Innopower, a platform for teachers’ innovation and professional development, inspiring over 100 schools to respond to students’ needs and incubate small-scale innovations.
Ms Wong served on the Urban Council and Wan Chai District Council between 1995 and 2008, including four years as Chairperson of the Wan Chai District Council. She received her BA (Hons) from Pomona College, California, and MEd from the University of Hong Kong. She is an Honorary Fellow of Lingnan University, The Education University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Baptist University.
