Ms Heidi Lee Yik Shuen currently serves as Executive Director of Hong Kong Ballet, bringing nearly three decades of experience in cultural management and arts education. She has held senior roles across prominent local and international cultural institutions and is a passionate advocate for cross-regional cultural exchange. Her expertise spans both commercial and non-profit arts administration, as well as art education, and she actively contributes to various advisory committees.


Ms Lee is known for her ability to connect diverse sectors of society through the arts, championing Hong Kong’s creative industries on the global stage. As a native Hongkonger, she firmly believes that culture is a vital force for driving sustainable economic and social development.


Under her leadership, Hong Kong Ballet—the city’s largest dance company—has expanded its mission beyond artistic excellence to embrace sustainability. Through community engagement, strategic resource management, and international collaboration, she is cultivating a resilient cultural ecosystem that enhances Hong Kong’s cultural identity and global presence.


Ms. Lee’s visionary approach continues to position the arts as a dynamic platform for innovation, inclusion, and long-term impact, reinforcing the role of culture in shaping a more vibrant and sustainable future for Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) is internationally recognised as a world-class institution that represents Hong Kong’s unique character. Since its inception in 1979, HKB has evolved into a vibrant performing arts organisation with a dynamic repertoire, forward-thinking community engagement initiatives and an emphasis on excellence.


HKB stands out as an inspiring Hong Kong cultural ambassador, sharing its powerful repertoire with over 50 international tours. This year HKB will have performed or presented immersive works in Macau, Venice, New York, London, Seoul and Shanghai. Additionally, HKB maintains the Hong Kong Academy of Ballet, a professionally-oriented ballet school, as well as a full schedule of award-winning community programmes and crossover collaborations throughout Hong Kong to ensure that ballet is accessible to all.
